Managing Multiple eSIM Profiles on Your Device

Why Use Multiple eSIM Profiles?

Modern smartphones can store multiple eSIM profiles, allowing you to switch between different data plans without physically swapping SIM cards. This is perfect for frequent travelers, digital nomads, or anyone who needs separate plans for different countries or purposes.

How Many eSIM Profiles Can Your Device Hold?

Most eSIM-compatible devices can store between 5-10 eSIM profiles, though only one or two can be active at the same time (depending on your device model). Here's what popular devices support:

  • iPhone XS and newer: Store up to 8 eSIMs, use 2 simultaneously (one eSIM + one physical SIM, or dual eSIM on iPhone 13 and newer)
  • Google Pixel 3 and newer: Store multiple eSIMs, use 1 eSIM + 1 physical SIM simultaneously
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer: Store up to 5 eSIMs, use 1 eSIM + 1 physical SIM simultaneously

Installing Multiple eSIM Profiles

You can install as many eSIM profiles as your device supports. Each time you purchase an eSIM plan from us, you'll receive a QR code or activation details. Simply scan the QR code or enter the details manually to add the new profile to your device.

Important: Installing a new eSIM doesn't delete your existing profiles—they all remain stored on your device.

How to Switch Between eSIM Profiles

On iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data
  2. You'll see all your installed eSIM profiles listed
  3. Tap the profile you want to use
  4. Toggle Turn On This Line
  5. Choose whether to use it for cellular data, calls, or both

On Android (Google Pixel):

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs
  2. Tap the eSIM profile you want to activate
  3. Toggle Use SIM to turn it on
  4. Set your preferences for calls, texts, and mobile data

On Samsung Galaxy:

  1. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager
  2. Select the eSIM you want to use
  3. Toggle it on and configure your preferences

Best Practices for Managing Multiple eSIMs

1. Label Your eSIM Profiles

Give each eSIM a clear, descriptive name like "Europe Travel," "USA Business," or "Asia Data Plan." This makes it easy to identify which profile to activate when you need it.

2. Turn Off Unused Profiles

To avoid confusion and prevent accidental data usage, disable eSIM profiles you're not currently using. They'll remain installed and ready to reactivate whenever needed.

3. Check Data Roaming Settings

When switching between profiles, always verify your data roaming settings to ensure you're using the correct plan and won't incur unexpected charges.

4. Keep Track of Expiration Dates

Most eSIM data plans have validity periods. Make a note of when each profile expires so you can plan accordingly or purchase a new plan before traveling.

5. Delete Old or Expired Profiles

Once an eSIM plan has expired and you won't use it again, remove it from your device to keep your list organized. You can always install a new eSIM when needed.

How to Delete an eSIM Profile

On iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings > Cellular
  2. Tap the eSIM you want to remove
  3. Tap Remove Cellular Plan
  4. Confirm by tapping Remove

On Android:

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs
  2. Tap the eSIM you want to delete
  3. Select Erase SIM or Delete
  4. Confirm the deletion

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Can't Install a New eSIM?

If you've reached your device's storage limit, you'll need to delete an old eSIM profile before installing a new one.

Wrong eSIM Profile Activating?

Check your cellular settings to ensure the correct profile is set as your primary line for mobile data. You may need to manually select it each time you switch.

eSIM Not Connecting?

Make sure the profile is turned on, data roaming is enabled (if traveling), and you're in an area with network coverage. Try toggling airplane mode on and off to reset the connection.
