eSIM Not Connecting? Here's How to Fix It

Troubleshooting Your eSIM Connection

Having trouble getting your eSIM to connect? Don't worry – most connection issues can be resolved with a few simple steps. This guide will walk you through the most common solutions to get you connected quickly.

1. Check Your Device Compatibility

First, ensure your device supports eSIM technology. Not all phones are eSIM-compatible, even if they're relatively new. Check your device manufacturer's website to confirm compatibility.

2. Verify Your eSIM Installation

Go to your device settings and check if the eSIM profile is properly installed:

  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Check for your eSIM plan
  • Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Look for your eSIM

3. Enable Data Roaming

This is the most common fix! Your eSIM needs data roaming enabled to work:

  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Select your eSIM → Turn on Data Roaming
  • Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Select your eSIM → Enable Roaming

4. Select the Correct Network

Sometimes your device won't automatically connect to the right network:

  • Go to your network settings
  • Turn off "Automatic Network Selection"
  • Manually select a network from the available list
  • Wait 30-60 seconds for connection

5. Restart Your Device

A simple restart can resolve many connectivity issues. Turn your device completely off, wait 30 seconds, then power it back on.

6. Toggle Airplane Mode

Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, then turn it off. This forces your device to reconnect to available networks.

7. Check Your APN Settings

In extremely rare cases, you may need to configure APN settings manually. Please contact support before attempting this.

8. Remove and Reinstall the eSIM

If nothing else works, try removing and reinstalling your eSIM profile:

  • Delete the eSIM from your device settings
  • Restart your device
  • Reinstall using your original QR code or activation code

Important: Only do this if you still have access to your original QR code or activation details! eSIMs are nontransferable.

9. Ensure You're in Coverage Area

Verify that you're in an area with network coverage for your eSIM plan. Some plans may not work in all regions of a country.

10. Check Your Plan Status

Make sure your eSIM plan is active and hasn't expired. Check your account or contact your provider to verify your plan status.
